The famous old port of Marseille
Starting by the Old port of Marseille where the history of the city and Provence is written.
The Old Port remains today the nerve center of Marseille under the watchful eye of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. It is a marina surrounded by the City Hall. It is a popular gathering place and a true symbol of the city.

Some of them has a port, as the magnificent Vallon, des Auffes.
The Vallon des Auffes owes its name to the auffe (or auffo in Provençal), a plant used in the manufacture of ship ropes or fishing nets. The small port therefore has several dozen small, typical and very colorful fishermen’s houses, but also their boats, including several pointus, typical Provençal boats which give this place charm.
