Located in a pretty valley surrounded by small mountains, the Luberon region is known for its mild climatic conditions, blue skies and rich colors.
On every part of the valley are villages steeped in history and secrets.
From Roussillon ocher to the charming rocks of Lacoste, discover these wonders in a relaxation area that has been made world famous by Peter Mayle and his book “a year in Provence” then
Ridley Scott “Une Grande Année”, where he will invite in particular the actors Marion Cotillard and Russell Crowe to tread the alleys of many villages in the region.
The Luberon is an art of living to be discovered alongside a driver guide native to the region.
30 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, we will start by discovering Lourmarin, a charming little medieval village nestled in the middle of olive groves at the foot of the Luberon known for its many small artisan shops
We will then leave for Bonnieux a village of stones, charm and pretty colored houses which fly in harmony to the top of its oppidum, where its 12th / 13th century church stands.
Our visit continues with the discovery of the village of Lacoste, located on the opposite slope, stronghold of the Marquis de Sade whose castle (recently restored by Pierre Cardin) overlooks the magnificently preserved village with its narrow cobbled streets.
Leaving Lacoste, we reached Ménerbes, perched on its rocky outcrop, made famous by writers and artists who stayed there or we will have our lunch with a breathtaking view of the Lubéron valley.
We cross the valley towards the northern slope of the Luberon to reach the famous listed village of Gordes, certainly one of the most visited villages in the region before the highlight of the show
The discovery of the village of Roussillon with its ocher quarries and its houses interwoven with colorful facades, where artists and potters exhibit their creations.
The ocher earth enchants visitors every season and will literally take you to another world. You will take a walk on the marked trails of the “Colorado Provençal” to the top of the village to appreciate the landscape and its palette of burning colors.
